The Café is a deli and catering kitchen in Leavenworth, Kansas. This page explains, in plain language, what information we collect about you, why we collect it, and how to ask us about it. The short version: we collect only what we need to feed you, we never sell it, and you can ask us to remove it at any time.
What we collect and why
- Contact and inquiry forms: your name, email, phone number, and event details. We use these only to respond to you and plan your order.
- Orders: what you ordered, when it's needed, and an address if we're dropping off catering. We keep order history so repeat orders are easy and so we can answer questions about past ones.
- Newsletter signups: your email address, to email you our weekly specials and news.
What we don't do
- We never sell or rent your information to anyone.
- We don't collect payment card numbers on this website. When card payments are offered, they are handled by a payment processor (such as Square), and card details go to them directly, never to us.
- We don't use advertising trackers on this site.
Who else touches your data
A few trusted services help this website run, and each receives only what it needs to do its job:
- Square runs our register and card payments, and our online ordering when it's available. What you give Square at checkout is handled under Square's own privacy policy.
- Delivery apps such as DoorDash: if you order through one, that service collects your details and address under its own privacy policy and passes us only what we need to make your order.
- Web3Forms and Formspree deliver our form submissions to our email.
- Google Fonts provides the lettering on this site; loading a font shares your browser's request with Google, like loading any web page does.
- Our email newsletter provider stores the newsletter list and handles unsubscribes. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link that works.
How long we keep things
Inquiries and order records are kept while you're a customer and for a reasonable period afterward for bookkeeping. Newsletter information is kept until you unsubscribe.
Your choices
- Ask us what information we have about you.
- Ask us to correct it or delete it. We'll honor deletion requests except where we need a record for legal or bookkeeping reasons, and we'll tell you if so.
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email.
