The Café is a catering and meal prep business in Leavenworth, Kansas. This page explains, in plain language, what information we collect about you, why we collect it, and how to ask us about it. The short version: we collect only what we need to feed you, we never sell it, and you can ask us to remove it at any time.

What we collect and why

  • Contact and inquiry forms — your name, email, phone number, and event details. We use these only to respond to you and plan your order.
  • Orders — what you ordered, when it's needed, and a delivery address if we're bringing it to you. We keep order history so repeat orders are easy and so we can answer questions about past ones.
  • Meal delivery clients — for customers who receive regular meal deliveries, our staff may keep a record on their behalf: name, address, phone, an emergency contact, and any dietary notes. These records exist only so we can deliver the right meal safely, and only our staff can see them.
  • Newsletter signups — your email address, and your phone number only if you choose to give it. We email you our news and menus; we won't text you unless you've checked the box that says we may.

What we don't do

  • We never sell or rent your information to anyone.
  • We don't collect payment card numbers on this website. When card payments are offered, they are handled by a payment processor (such as Square), and card details go to them directly — never to us.
  • We don't use advertising trackers on this site.

Who else touches your data

A few trusted services help this website run, and each receives only what it needs to do its job:

  • Formspree delivers our form submissions to our email.
  • Google Fonts provides the lettering on this site; loading a font shares your browser's request with Google, like loading any web page does.
  • Our email newsletter provider stores the newsletter list and handles unsubscribes. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link that works.

How long we keep things

Inquiries and order records are kept while you're a customer and for a reasonable period afterward for bookkeeping. Newsletter information is kept until you unsubscribe. Records for meal delivery clients are removed when service ends and they're no longer needed.

Your choices

  • Ask us what information we have about you.
  • Ask us to correct it or delete it. We'll honor deletion requests except where we need a record for legal or bookkeeping reasons, and we'll tell you if so.
  • Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email.
